Red Light Therapy is rapidly gaining popularity (6 reasons why more and more people are using it). Not only among biohackers and athletes, but also among people who want to improve their skin, muscles or overall health. MITO LIGHT® is known for their high-quality panels and bulbs, and there are now several generations on the market. In this blog we compare the MITO LIGHT® Generation 3.0 with the latest Generation 4.0 - so you know exactly which one suits your needs best.

What do both generations have in common?

  • Therapeutic wavelengths
Both work with safe and effective wavelengths (630–850 nm)
  • Dual Chip LED technology
For powerful and efficient light output
  • Red and near infrared light
Combination of both types of light
  • Flicker-Free technology
Flicker-free, so comfortable for the eyes and head
  • Built-in timer
For easy setting of treatment time
  • Widely applicable
Effective for pain, skin improvement, inflammation, vitality and cell energy
  • CE certified design
    Safe, reliable and European approved

Yet there are clear differences – especially in terms of technology and ease of use.

Explanation of wavelengths and LED technology

Both the 3.0 and 4.0 generations of MITO LIGHT® use carefully selected wavelengths that fall completely within the therapeutic window (between 630–850 nm). This means that they are optimally absorbed by the body and are safe to use, without side effects. However, there are clear differences in composition and technology.

MITO LIGHT® 3.0: effective with 4 wavelengths

The 3.0 panels combine four powerful wavelengths: 660, 670, 830 and 850nm. The addition of 670 and 830nm to the traditional 660 and 850nm provides a broader effect, making the therapy more versatile and effective. These panels use Dual Chip LEDs – each diode contains two powerful light chips for more intense illumination. Thanks to Flicker-Free technology, the light is completely flicker-free, preventing headaches and fatigue.

MITO LIGHT® 4.0: innovation with 6 wavelengths

The 4.0 series goes one step further with no less than six different wavelengths: 630, 660, 670, 810, 830 and 850 nm. The three most effective wavelengths have been selected per spectrum (red and near infrared). For example, 630 nm is ideal for skin improvement, while 810 nm contributes to the activation of brain cells according to several studies.

The 4.0 uses the latest Multi-Wavelength Dual Chip LEDs: each diode emits both red and infrared light, which ensures even illumination across the entire panel. Again, the lighting is completely flicker-free.

What does this mean in practice?

Generation 3.0 offers an excellent basis for red light therapy. The wavelengths used are effective and the panels are powerful. The operation is simple, which makes these models popular with people who want to start with light therapy, or who are looking for a solid and affordable solution.

Generation 4.0 takes everything to the next level. Thanks to six different wavelengths, the light penetrates deeper into the tissue and more therapy targets can be addressed simultaneously. The addition of a touchscreen with intensity control and wireless synchronization makes it even easier and more personal to use. In addition, the app integration provides more control and overview.

Which generation is suitable for whom?

  • Choose MITO LIGHT® 3.0 if you:
    • Looking for a reliable, powerful basic solution
    • No need for app control or intensity control
    • Start with red light therapy or work on a budget
  • Choose MITO LIGHT® 4.0 if you:
    • Want to get more out of your therapy with additional wavelengths
    • Personal settings are important to you (intensity, settings, app)
    • Professional use of red light therapy or seeking the maximum

Conclusion: 3.0 or 4.0?

Both generations offer excellent results, but the MITO LIGHT® 4.0 is clearly more advanced. Are you already experienced with red light therapy or do you want to get the most out of every session? Then generation 4.0 is worth the investment. Are you just starting out or do you have a more limited budget? Then the 3.0 is an excellent choice that already offers many therapeutic benefits.

Whichever you choose: at VitaalGemak.nl you will find both generations, from the compact Bulbs for targeted use to the powerful Mitohacker panels for maximum coverage.
